A life diamond is a lab-grown diamond created from human hair or animal fur. The carbon is carefully extracted and placed under extreme heat and pressure, until its atoms rearrange into the crystal lattice of a diamond.
What emerges is not a keepsake or an ornament. It is a genuine diamond in every gemological sense — then cut, certified and set by hand, to your story.

The journey
About five and a half months.
From the first conversation to the day you collect your piece — every step documented, and overseen by our founder.
A strand, a gathering.
Hair or fur — approximately ten grams for a one-carat diamond, clean and dry. Sealed and documented from the moment it leaves your hands.
Carbon becomes crystal.
Around four months under extreme heat and pressure, as the carbon reorganises into a genuine diamond. We design your piece together in the meantime.
Returned to the hand.
Cut, certified and set by hand at our Singapore atelier — in 18-karat gold or platinum, designed to your story.

Every piece is priced in three parts. You see each on its own, and add them together to see the whole. No hidden margin. No grief markup.
The diamond
The life diamond itself, priced by carat range and shape. Round is the base; other shapes carry a modest multiplier.
Natural gemstones
An optional narrative layer — accent stones chosen to represent the story. Priced per carat.
Setting & design
Metalwork, hand-setting, and design consultation with our founder, a GIA Graduate Gemologist. Priced by complexity.

Every Lumière piece is designed under the direction of our founder. Venessa leads each consultation personally, selects every natural gemstone, and oversees each step of the process — so the quality of the stone and the craft is never compromised.
Gems Lumière is the sister atelier of Gems Origin.
